Japanese Beetle Control
With the warm weather, comes the return of some unwanted pests. Luckily there are ways to eliminate Japanese Beetles before they take over your lawn and landscape.
Have you ever wondered how these pesky bugs ended up here in the first place? The invasive beetles are believed to have been brought over from Japan by way of cargo ships. And when it comes down to it, these bugs can wreak havoc on plant life.
An adult beetle will lay its eggs in the ground/grass and the larvae (grub) will feed on the root system until it becomes an adult. It can cause some unsightly damage. Once the grub has reached the adult stage, it will fly away and feed on your trees, shrubs and perennials.
In order to get a handle on these pests, it’s best to apply a granular preventative grub control in mid-summer. The grubs will ingest the insecticide, causing them to die. This helps to break the life cycle of the Japanese Beetle. Even if you think you’re grub free, it’s best to play it safe and apply the grub control. Remember, these pests can appear at any time, and once the damage is done, it’s more costly to fix the problem than to prevent it. Give us a call for a preventative grub control estimate!
