Grubs out in full force

Grubs out in full force

Grubs are becoming a prevalent issue for lawns in our area. These late season grubs feed on the root system, causing the grass to die.  The earlier you can get a handle on these pests, the better.  Keep an eye out for brown patches as well as damage from animals in your yard.  Raccoons and skunks tend to dig for the active grubs.

If you’re unsure whether grubs are the culprit, there’s an easy test you can do yourself.  Just tug on a portion of turf and you should be able to spot the grubs right away. There tends to be an average of 10-15 grubs per square foot.

What can be done? Our technicians can apply an insecticide to kill the active grubs.  Depending on the extent of the damage, seeding and a core aeration may be needed to restore the turf.  We also off a mid-summer preventative grub control services.  Give our office a call for a FREE estimate and evaluation!
