Ornamental Value

Max Frei Geranium is one of our top favorite perennial plants to use in our designs here at LawnCare by Walter. With its long bloom times, clean foliage, low maintenance needs, and drought tolerance it's a great addition to most gardens. Max Frei is primarily a summer bloomer, with its heaviest blooms occurring between May and June. However, it will continue to bloom intermittently through the remainder of the season. Deep magenta flowers cover a mound of deeply cut green foliage that creates a spreading mound. The foliage can turn to a deep scarlet once colder temperatures arrive in the fall. Another commonly used name for Geranium is cranesbill; referring to the seed head that follows the flower which some say resembles the head of a crane.
