Available in many varieties including: Purple Pavement, Frau Dagmar Hastrup, and Wild Spice, this rose provides a color range from white to pink to purple. Fragrant and prolific the flowers cover the densely rounded shrub from early summer to fall. In the fall, large, deep orange to red rosehips develop covering the plant extending the ornamental value into winter. Rose hips are valuable not only ornamentally, but medicinally too as they are high in vitamin C. They are often used in making tea, jams, and jellies.
Great used as specimens, screening plants, in cottage gardens, and difficult sites.
