Ornamental Value
Dwarf Korean Lilac has been a mainstay landscape plant for some time but it’s worth mentioning. This Lilac is an ideal size for many landscapes while still providing that wonderful, beloved Lilac fragrance. In the spring reddish purple buds emerge on almost bare branches and open to dusty lavender flower clusters. When considering new plants, spreading out bloom times amongst your plant selection helps ensure you’ll have color and interest year round. Dwarf Korean Lilac is a great plant to use to kick off the spring season. This Lilac works great as a hedge along the property's edge, as a specimen on the corner of your home, or mixed into a shrub border. Pruning is an important maintenance practice for this desirable shrub. Yearly pruning should be done immediately after the blooms are spent to ensure next year’s buds aren’t removed.
