Little Suzy Blackeyed Susan

Characteristics & Cultural Requirements

  • Height/Spread: 18-24 inches tall by 18-24 inches wide
  • Habit/Form: Upright
  • Hardiness Zone: 3-9
  • Exposure: Full sun to part shade
  • Soil: Moist/well-drained soil

Ornamental Value

A new take on the old classic Goldsturm, Little Suzy boasts a more compact and shorter version yet equally long bloom time. Bright, golden-yellow flowers begin in July and bloom through October with proper care. The black seed heads add attractive contrast to the fall and winter gardens if left up. This Blackeyed Susan variety is also resistant to Septoria leaf spot that commonly appears on the Goldsturm variety. Blackeyed Susan makes a lovely addition to the pollinator garden and is deer and rabbit resistant.

Landscape Uses

Mass plantings or groupings amongst other sun loving perennials. Border plantings. Pollinator gardens.
