Little Suzy Black-eyed Susan

Characteristics & Cultural Requirements

  • Height/Spread: 18-24 inches tall by 18-24 inches wide
  • Habit/Form: Upright
  • Hardiness Zone: 3-9
  • Exposure: Full sun to part shade
  • Soil: Moist/well-drained soil

Ornamental Value

A new take on the old classic Goldsturm, Little Suzy boasts a more compact and shorter version yet equally long bloom time. Bright, golden-yellow flowers begin in July and bloom through October with proper care. The black seed heads add attractive contrast to the fall and winter gardens if left up. This Black-eyed Susan variety is also resistant to Septoria leaf spot that commonly appears on the Goldsturm variety. Black-eyed Susan makes a lovely addition to the pollinator garden and is deer and rabbit resistant.
