This beautiful building not only holds wonderful value for Rockford as a historic landmark, but the Community Foundation itself is a tremendous organization in our community that makes local grants and scholarships possible through generous donors. Our designer worked on this property at previous employment and by chance ran into the office manager at a local event where they reconnected a professional level through LCbW.
Create a beautiful terrain that is low maintenance throughout three seasons. By surrounding your home with a variety of plants, you’ll have a landscape that’s in sync with the sun and the earth’s rotation.
These avid gardeners enjoy working in their beautiful backyard, but wanted a little guidance when it came to renovating their outdated landscaping in the front. The yews were showing massive bare spots and the junipers were overgrown and worn out.
This owner's existing landscape plantings had surpassed their peak. The overgrown shrubs and struggling plant material were removed to make way for a new contemporary design developed with help from the homeowner.
We partnered with Green Key Landscape Design and the Miracle Mile Rockford to complete the landscape overhaul of the Rock River Blocks frontage beds along the corner of Alpine Road and State Street. The unassuming turf and tired Juniper shrubs were replaced with a low-profile mix of hardy, salt tolerant, colorful perennials such as Catmint, Salvia, and Allium.
When our homeowners moved into this home, they craved the beauty their previous home's landscaping provided. To enhance the existing backyard's modern feel, they wanted to add privacy and a colorful palette or ornamental favorites.
Having completed indoor renovations, this family was ready to tackle the outdoor landscape. Their goals: to create a contemporary landscape that enhanced the architecture of their home while also being sustainable incorporating native plants to support the local flora and fauna.
These homeowners set out to make sure their new building not only complemented their existing home, but created an aesthetically pleasing view for the neighbors and passersby. Unilock's Beacon Hill Smooth pavers in Bavarian Blend with a mixed Copthorne sailor course in Burnt Clay and Basalt were installed underneath the wrap-around porch adding warmth to the space.
What does one do with a large backyard area? Entertain and host family and loved ones of course! The husband and wife living at this property knew that they wanted to enhance their outdoor living space but were unable to visualize what that would look like. Our landscape designer created a detailed design to help conceptualize the style and appearance for their expansive backyard.
Our homeowner wanted an updated landscape throughout the property that included a small paved space to relax. The client also wanted a privacy barrier that consisted of something besides a row of trees.
To accommodate this request, we created a small patio using Belgard Mega Dublin pavers in Cotswold Mist with Weston Universal stone seat walls, also in Cotswold Mist, bordering the patio.
This project's goal was to extend the outdoor living space from the deck to the lower yard by installing a paver patio. This large patio space, created from Belgard Lafitt pavers in Danville Beige and trimmed with a soldier course border using Hollandstone pavers in Charcoal, was adorned with Belgard Weston Universal and 3-piece wall stones in Danville Beige accent pillars and seat wall.
Our homeowner wanted a low maintenance landscape that provided three-season visual interest. We installed a mix of shrubs and perennials throughout the landscape beds that will expand as they mature resulting in less space for weeds and mulch maintenance.
The end goal on this specific project was to spruce up an existing driveway. Our customer really wanted to do something unique that would make a statement but wouldn't overpower the surrounding landscape.
To freshen the look of this concrete pad, we created a multi-level patio using Belgard Mega Dublin pavers in Gascony Tan and accented with a Belgard Hollandstone soldier course in Ashbury Haze. Pillars and steps were created from Belgard Weston Universal wall stone in Gascony Tan.
The goal of this assisted living facility was to create an interactive and safe space for the residents to enjoy a meal during the beautiful summer months. Handicap access and protection from nearby parking lot traffic were a must.
Safety had become a concern due to rotting and crumbling railroad ties at this business, and the owners were ready for a sleek, updated look. We installed Fond du Lac natural cut wall stone, keeping a similar layout to the preexisting wall.
Our goal for this project was to create unity among a mix of hardscape materials and implement one cohesive space that allowed for multiple uses: grilling, entertaining, lounging, seamless passage from multiple entrances, and safe passage for bare feet heading to the pool. The final plan incorporated Unilock's Beacon Hill paver in Bavarian Blend with a Brussels paver soldier course in Buff for the expansive patio space.
The existing berm for this homeowner was in need of a clean and updated look. Our Landscape Designer wanted to soften the shape of the landscaped bed by choosing natural Fon du Lac outcropping stone to complement the dense, yet airy Evergreens and plantings the homeowner originally chose.
This previously overgrown garden was in desperate need of a makeover. Our customer was looking to transform his existing garden to something more manageable and contemporary in style.
When we first started this project, the homeowners intended to install an in-ground pool. Because the elevation of the grade drastically changed throughout parts of the backyard, a retaining wall was needed around the outer edge of the pool.
This project was uniquely designed to reflect the cultural background of our customer. Our project manager and landscape designer worked together to create a peaceful retreat of relaxation while incorporating the Asian elements of earth, water, stone, wood and a contrast of textures.
The cedar trellises were custom designed by our team of skilled employees and the solid granite pagoda nestled between the red maple and lush evergreens was custom built by our project manager.
Relaxing doesn't always have to take place in the back yard. This existing ordinary looking concrete pad was renovated to incorporate more of a relaxed atmosphere so the home owner could peacefully sit out in front of his house.
