It's summer 2026 and LawnCare by Walter has a good reason to fire up the grill, crank up the music, and pull out the bean bag toss. In between designing great landscapes, killing weeds, pruning trees and decorating homes for every season, Mark and Debbie Walter stop to celebrate 40 years of business with their employees and customers.
It all began in 1986 when Mark Walter—then a manager for Service Master LawnCare—purchased the company and christened it LawnCare by Walter. With only a few rakes and just as many employees, Mark and Debbie set out to grow a small business into a regional enterprise serving Rockford and beyond.
Forty years later, the Walters have grown their customer base exponentially and expanded their services. Now a diversified company offering many residential and commercial services, LawnCare by Walter remains an enterprise ready to tackle any customer's challenge.
But the story doesn't end there. Through the years, Mark and Debbie Walter earned a reputation for having a strong commitment to the Rockford community. It wasn't long before they started giving back to it. The annual local Flannel Jam Country Confidential concert is co-hosted by the Walters. The event helps support St. Jude's Hospital and the Easterseals Autism Program.
Here's to the spirit of '86! May it always live on!
LawnCare by Walter enjoyed our annual Summer Sizzle with The Bull 95.3 FM. We fired up the grill and gave away prizes.
LCbW donated $13,000 to St. Jude Hospital and $13,000 to the Easterseals Autism Program, which offers a comprehensive range of services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their support networks.
LCbW cooked up a feast on August 21, 2024, to celebrate this year’s Summer Sizzle. Tunes from The Bull 95.3 FM played while guests tossed bean bags and children bounced in an air-inflated house. Many took home prizes from the event’s raffle.
