Ornamental value: Dwarf Japanese Garden Juniper is a great option for rock gardens or dry areas because it is drought-tolerant. Slow growing and in need of full sunlight, it is attractive en masse or as a filler between other plants. As a low-growing evergreen shrub, its height will cap at no more than eight inches, then spread outward over time into a dense mat. The branches grow slightly above ground and remain parallel to it. The small needles range from a grayish green to a bluish green color and develop a purple tinge in the winter. Dwarf Japanese Garden Juniper is easy to grow and is adaptable to a variety of conditions.
